Today it is finally done! We’ve finished weaving the spider-silk-matrix for my project 2.6g 329m/s one day before the final deadline! The skin-cells need a certain amount of time in order for them to form the skin I need and add to that the additional time for the sterilisation process of the spider-web and you’ll arrive at 18 April, which is tomorrow.

That’s why I’m glad that the weaving of the transgenic silk was finished JUST in time! I’ll dedicate a page to the entire process of turning the spider-silk into the textile because I think it’s a story worth telling. Finally after several major setbacks I can sleep well tonight : )

Many Thanks in my search to find the right partner for processing the spider silk for Mrs. Britta Smeulders from Ibena in Germany for bringing me in contact with Bornemann-Etiketten in Germany. And many many thanks for mr. Christoph Priggert from Bornemann-Etiketten for making the impossible, possible in such a sort time!
